Recent custom order

As usual, it's been forever since I've blogged. But that is going to change!

This week I completed a custom order for Christmas presents. The customer and I had a lovely chat, and after discussing several options she decided to order 8 felted coin purses, and 7 "manly" duct tape keychains.

I ended up making extra keychains, so she could choose which ones she wanted. I designed the coin purse pattern, and then crocheted them in 100% wool yarn. Next I felted them in the washer & dryer, then crocheted them shut and added the vintage button clasps.

Here is a collage of the duct tape keychains in production, and the completed items. The customer was thrilled with how everything turned out!

Interested in placing a custom order? Let me know, and we can work something out! I would love the opportunity to make your holiday season a little less stressful.

Cheers!

Hello, y'all!

So, I've decided that I need to stop making excuses for not blogging. I mean really, it's not terribly difficult - and is only time-consuming if I make it that way. I hope y'all are ready to start seeing more of me!

I wanted to share one of my plarn creations with you today. Plarn stands for PLastic yARN - plastic shopping bags that I turn into yarn so I can crochet them! I make all sorts of things out of plarn, but one of the cutest has to be these plarn flower ponytail holders.

It's like a little eco-friendly garden!

I'd love to hear what you think of them.

Happy upcycling!

Upcycled Button Rings by Dovetail Originals

I have been a very naughty plarnstar! Life got more than a little crazy, and I've been neglecting many things, including this blog. Well, not any more.  :)

A while ago Kathleen from dovetailoriginals.etsy.com purchased some shank buttons from my etsy shop, which she upcycled and turned into these fabulous rings:

And thank you for upcycling, Kathleen!

Take care, and don't forget to smile,
