Custom order for plarn plant coasters

A couple of weeks ago, I received a request in my etsy shop (plarnstar.etsy.com) to make plarn plant coasters. The customer wanted 7 inch plarn circles to attach to cork and use under her houseplants.

So, I went through my (extensive) plastic bag stash and pulled out bags in the neutral color scheme she was looking for. I flattened, folded, and cut up 12 bags using the biscuit method.

I then tied the loops together to make a really huge pile of variegated plarn - PLastic yARN.

Next, I adjusted my plarn dish scrubby pattern and started to crochet around and around.

I stopped once the circle measured 7 inches across - and then made a second one!

And I had enough plarn left over to make a dish scrubby or two another day. Yay!

I had a lot of fun making something new. What can I make for you? ❤♻️

Hello, y'all!

So, I've decided that I need to stop making excuses for not blogging. I mean really, it's not terribly difficult - and is only time-consuming if I make it that way. I hope y'all are ready to start seeing more of me!

I wanted to share one of my plarn creations with you today. Plarn stands for PLastic yARN - plastic shopping bags that I turn into yarn so I can crochet them! I make all sorts of things out of plarn, but one of the cutest has to be these plarn flower ponytail holders.

It's like a little eco-friendly garden!

I'd love to hear what you think of them.

Happy upcycling!

Upcycled Button Rings by Dovetail Originals

I have been a very naughty plarnstar! Life got more than a little crazy, and I've been neglecting many things, including this blog. Well, not any more.  :)

A while ago Kathleen from dovetailoriginals.etsy.com purchased some shank buttons from my etsy shop, which she upcycled and turned into these fabulous rings:
